Passport to Journey

The world is round and life improves with travel.
It is not easy to journey, but I don't choose easy.
I merged with the ocean, sky and land.
Observed people marching in the streets.
Received kindness from strangers and gifts from mystic friends.
Tasted fresh fish, octopus and Andalusian wine.
Wandered free and unafraid.
There were tears when longing for a certain soul erupted.
Frustration was evident with rain and dark days.
Disappointment loomed with expectations.
Miracles occurred on the fly.
Peace washed over my spirit.
Distance and new landscapes healed old wounds.
Acute awareness of blessings and protection.
Happy to have returned home.  Being here now is bliss.

Eclipse 8/21/17

August morning filled with science and stars.
There was a skeptical mood last night,
but thankfully the day began with no resistance.
A steady wash of universal gratitude overtook the world.
Wonder and excitement evoked a childlike response.
Chasing shadows and looking up.

Hot as July

Feeling effect of southern intensity.
Walk front to back and back to front.
Turning poison in to medicine.
Tending okra and eggplant.
Drawing on the story.
Home manifested in swamp life.
Enduring heat and change.
Yeah, you right.

Rising in the south.
Planting seeds and watering.
Beginning again.

Sunflower

You green eyed wonder.
Demanding a point of view.
Silently singing!

January 6th, 2017

Welcome 2017!

I feel deep change coming.
Some of it is sorrowful endings,
but most of it is a bold new outlook.
After traveling far and experiencing life,
the future is now and I want to ride it.
I watch my family surf from the shore.
I share in the buds of promise.
Gratitude is what remains.

Love, Grandma
